Luxury Piercing FAQs
Do you use a piercing gun?
No. In fact, we cringe when people call our piercing instrument a gun. Unlike our specially-engineered, hand-pressured instrument, piercing guns are spring-loaded and LOUD. Piercing guns “shoot” the piercing earring through the lobe. Our human-powered instrument is designed to pierce the ear quickly and accurately in one smooth, quiet, hand-pressured motion. Our device is an FDA approved class 1 medical device.
Are these hypoallergenic earrings?
Yes! All of our earrings are hypoallergenic and meet the regulations for for children's jewelry for the strictest policies in California, Chicago and Europe. The earrings come in a wide range of hypoallergenic metal choices including, medical grade stainless steel, Medical grade gold plate stainless steel and medical grade titanium.
How long does it take for a piercing to heal?
The average healing time is 6 weeks for an earlobe piercing and 12 weeks for a cartilage piercing. We recommend leaving your piercing earrings in and following your aftercare instructions for the entire healing period.
How long does the piercing take?
Typically appointments take a half hour. We schedule private appointments for 40 minutes incase we need a little extra time!
What makes this piercing system safe?
Our system has two unique features designed to ensure the safest ear piercing experience possible.
1.Fully Enclosed Earring Cartridges: Prevents exposure to cross contamination.
2.Patented Safety Back: The patented Safety Back™ shields the sharp piercing post and prevents the earring from being over tightened to the ear. This provides optimal air flow helping promote healing.
3.Hypo-allergenic earrings* All earrings are Manufactured in the United States and are made compliant to FDA guidelines. Alloys you can trust!
4.Sterility is Guaranteed! Unless the package is opened or damaged. Inverness follows strict sterilization protocols which allow for the written guarantee on every earring cassette.

Do you pierce children's ears?
Yes! At this time, we will pierce any child 5 years of age or older who can verbally consent to the procedure and understand the aftercare process. Your child will also need to be able to sit during the procedure unassisted. We do not allow you to hold your child in your lap or restrain them in any way during the procedure.
What is normal during the healing process?
Redness, soreness, swelling, oozing clear or white liquid, crusting, peeling, bump around the piercing site. IMPORTANT: If redness, soreness, swelling or oozing happens AFTER 24 hours from when the piercing was done, take out the piercing and seek medical attention.
What is NOT normal during the healing process?
Very hot feeling and extreme pain. Usually a bright colored discharge (typically green or brown) with a strong odor to it. If you have any of the following symptoms, it's advised that you remove the earing(s) and seek medical attention: Severe redness, pain, pus drainage (pus is typically a bright color, not white or clear), major swelling, abscess formation, fever.
What are some helpful tips for my new piercing?
1. Wash your hands before touching or cleaning your piercing. Touching with dirty fingers is an easy way to get a piercing infected. Despite what you may have heard, you do not need to rotate or twist your jewelry during healing. Unless you are cleaning your piercing, keep your hands off!
2. Check Your Jewelry. Any jewelry should be checked occasionally (with clean hands) to make sure those earring backs are fastened.
3. Keep Your Jewelry in. While your piercing is healing, keep jewelry in it at all times. After your piercing is healed you can change your jewelry, but jewelry should never be left out for longer than the time it takes to insert a new piece. If you must remove your jewelry temporarily after healing, such as for work or surgery, there are less visible (and non-metal) alternatives that can be worn for short periods of time.
4. Follow your aftercare. We recommend using the provided aftercare solution 2-3 times a day for 6-12 weeks to ensure the best healing. Cleanse immediately after swimming, exercising, apply hair products or perfume.
5. Be mindful of earrings you wear. For the first 6 months to a year after your piercing is healed, we don’t recommend wearing heavy earrings.
What if I change my mind?
It’s important to note that all sales are final on our piercing service.
Once we open the sterile earring package, we consider this the final sale as we cannot use that cartridge for another piercing as it’s no longer sterile.
I don’t like my piercing and I took it out, what are my options?
It’s important to note, all piercing sales are final. Prior to the piercing, we always consult your wants and vision for the piercing. We mark the spot and ask that you sign off on the placement PRIOR to piercing.
